“Before Night Falls”

Before Night Falls

Purpureal murmurs,
gasps of pink,
orderly scribbles
of wind-swept boughs
scatter chantilly lace
against a silken
sky —

Woman:
wear the fragile veil
upon your crown,
tread softly  into the twilight
cathedral,
illuminate
the candles,
sing
like the nightingale
before the darkness
falls.

  1. why do i have the feeling this was written for me? because deep down i´m convinced all great poetry was written for me. so beautiful.

  2. Truly lovely. Reminds me of a dream I had of walking in heaven’s ‘cathedral’ with God. Thank you for dramatic imagery so simply and wonderfully expressed.

  3. I love your pages and your form of self-expression, it is a pleasure to have you share your gifts through your pages Thank you. I have nominated you for blog of the Year please visit my page Blog of the year awards and nominations Thank you! Revised
